In case you missed the first few elements of our worship service, this Sunday we focused on a Call To Worship by reading Psalm 96. Below are the first six verses, and you can read the full passage here.

Worship in the Splendor of Holiness

96 Oh sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
tell of his salvation from day to day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples!
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

We followed this call to worship by introducing a new to us song called “Only A Holy God” by the worship band City Alight. You can find their song on YouTube here.

What a rich and encouraging way to start our time of worship together! Psalm 96 proclaims WHAT we are to do and WHY we are to do it. As God’s people we should sing to the LORD, bless his name, and declare his glory among the nations! He is our Holy God and we are called to worship Him for who He is!
