Community is a grace from God. At Journey the Way it is our firm desire and belief that as a church we will be striving to be in genuine Community with one another. Though previously community may have been modeled to us as a porcelain doll with an ever-familiar always-creepy fake smile. We, at Journey the Way, would like to see that face smashed. To reveal ourselves for whom we really are, though we are marred, scared and unbeautiful we are healed and made lovely through the Gospel.
Therefore in our groups we strive to do two things. First, grow. Meaning, through the grace of God be splayed open by the truth of the Word of God to the glory of God. Second, Gospel Application. This is the key element to our community groups. To, quite literally, smash the porcelain face by confessing our sin, repent of our sin, and apply the Gospel directly to our wounds. By the grace of God we do this to fight the good fight of faith and be in genuine community with one another.
All this to say, “Come and be in Community with us at Journey the Way! Come discuss Scripture with us and be changed by Scripture with us; come break the creepy porcelain face with us and see the Gospel, by God’s grace invade your heart, mind, soul and life, and your sin rooted up and killed.”
