Journey The Way is a group of people who long to live their lives the way Jesus lived.  The people of the early church were only called Christians in Antioch, and right or wrong that is the name that has stuck with those who claim to belong to Christ. There was another name that was used to describe the people in the early church. Five times in the book of Acts this movement of Christ followers is referred to as “the Way”. The Apostle Paul was particularly fond of this title. Those that followed the Way modeled their lives after Jesus Christ and believed that the Way He lived is the absolute best Way to live. To me this showed and shows that those who follow the Way of Jesus are more than just religious people following a system of rules and regulations, but that this radical lifestyle entered into and affected every aspect of their lives. It was counter-cultural and some even lost their lives because they were associated with the Way. So what was so upsetting about living the Way of Jesus?

We want to see the Way lived out in our city and in our neighborhoods. We believe that the Way of Jesus is so compelling that by living the Way that He lived we will see lives transformed all around us. This will start with us and spread to a city, to a state, to a nation and to the ends of the earth. Think about it, the world still hasn’t recovered from the first group of people who belonged to the Way. We believe that to live the Way we must Love God, Love People and Turn the World Upside-Down.
