What to Expect on a Sunday Morning
Worship
Jesus and Jesus Alone
Worship will always be focused on Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Many elements in Worship
We intentionally worship through music, scripture reading, prayer, preaching of God’s word, Communion and Baptism.
Communion
As stated above we practice communion, and we do this every week. It is a time of remembering and celebrating what Christ did for us on the cross. (Luke 22:14-23) We practice Close Communion which means that you do not need to be a member of Journey the Way to partake, but you do need to be a professing believer of Jesus Christ.
Baptism
We practice baptism regularly, and will have a baptism service as frequently as is needed. We believe that baptism follows conversion. If you desire to be baptized we would love to hear about how God has changed your life and why you would like to be baptized.
Coffee
It’s On Us
If you’re running late or just don’t want to make your own coffee in the morning, don’t worry about it and have a cup of coffee on us. We enjoy providing regular and decaf coffee on Sunday mornings.
What to Wear
Be Comfortable
Wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing. We are very laid back and have many people that dress casually and many that like to dress up on a Sunday morning. You will never be judged for what you wear.
What to Bring
Bring a Bible
We always encourage people to be reading along as we go through scripture together. If you do not own a Bible we will have some available for you to use.
Bring a Notepad and Pen
If you’re a note taker we will encourage you to bring something to write notes on and something to write with. This can be helpful as you revisit the scripture throughout the week.
The Gospel
Always the Gospel
We will always preach the gospel. Whether it be through the songs we sing, the scripture we read and the sermons we preach, the gospel will be boldly proclaimed. To learn more about what we believe the gospel is, go to the section of our website marked gospel.
